Beechwood is a residential nursing home providing support for 24 physically disabled adults.

We specialise in supporting people who have varying needs as a result of physical and long term neurological conditions including cerebral palsy, brain injury, Huntington’s disease, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spina bifida & hydrocephalus and stroke.

Our Registered Nurse teams are highly skilled and trained to deliver specialist and complex nursing care and have significant experience with personal nursing care (inc. tracheostomy & PEG/NG care), health & wellbeing programmes, rehabilitation, community engagement, enablement & transition, volunteering & activities and respite services.

The full-time support we provide is flexible and designed to help build skills, inspire confidence and encourage people to live more independently. We work directly with each individual to develop a personalised support programme based on their needs, wishes and aspirations. Beachwood uniquely features a Life Skills Room designed to provide disabled people with deeply engaging experiences and help them to learn different skills and maximise their potential. The room features interactive screen technology, virtual reality handsets, iPads, Kindles, an Xbox gaming console and immersive lighting.

Jane Kaye

Jane has been qualified as a registered general nurse for 37 years and staffed in Huddersfield Royal Infirmary in a variety of different specialities.She commenced working as deputy manager at Beechwood in 1988 and became service manager in February 2019.Jane has nursed complex health conditions over the years and improved her clinical skills base, and supports the nursing team to ensure a high level of quality care is maintained.

Jane is passionate about palliative care and ensuring people’s wishes are carried out towards the end of their lives,and achieved Gold Standards Framework which provides outstanding training and recognised standards of care. Jane is keen to develop the home and encourage the service users to be empowered in living independently in the way they choose.
